Ordering

How do I order a book on your website?

Search or browse for the book you wish to purchase. Then click on either the title or the book jacket. If the “Add to Cart” button appears on the next page, then the book is in stock and available for purchase. Click on “Add to Cart.” Confirm the information in the shopping cart by clicking on “Proceed to Checkout.” At this point you will need to either log-in to your account or register. Fill out the forms and proceed by clicking “Continue” at the bottom of each page.

How long will it take for my book(s) to arrive?

Books ordered through the website to U.S. destinations will typically take 2-3 weeks to arrive. If you have not received your book within 4 weeks, please contact VHPS, our warehouse, at 888-330-8477.

How can booksellers purchase books from Palgrave Macmillan?

Booksellers should place orders through their St. Martin’s Press sales representative. Or, if the bookstore does not have a sales representative, orders can go directly to VHPS, our warehouse, at 888-330-8477.

How can I order from a country other than the US or Canada?

Orders for Palgrave Macmillan books outside of the US and Canada must be placed through Palgrave Macmillan UK. Visit www.palgrave.com/home for more information. Orders for books from our distribution lines, Berg, I.B. Tauris, Manchester University Press, and Zed Books, must be placed through their UK offices. Examination Copies

How can I order examination copies?

To order your examination copy, add the book to your shopping cart. After you register and provide information about your university affiliation, you will be able to select "exam copy" as an option in your shopping cart.

Examination copies are offered at a reduced fee to professors who are considering the book for course adoption. Paperback titles are available for free, and hardcover titles are available for 30% off. Pre-payment is required for all examination copy requests. There is a maximum of three examination copies per customer. Keep in mind that not all Palgrave Macmillan titles are available in paperback. Please check our catalog or the website. The exam copy fee is not refundable, but you may request a free desk copy once the adoption order has been placed.

Is there a charge for examination copies?

There is no fee for paperback titles. Hardcover titles are available for 30% off

How can I obtain a review copy of one of your books?

If you would like to review one of our books for your publication, requests should be submitted in writing on business letterhead. Please include the title of the book you wish to review along with a contact name and mailing address for the reviewer. Requests should be sent to:

How can I get books for an upcoming event?

If you plan to sell the books through your organization or a local bookstore, place an order through VHPS at 888-330-8477. If you are a Palgrave Macmillan author, you may purchase books at a 40% discount from VHPS using this number. Books for resale cannot be charged to a credit card. If you will not be able to sell books, please contact a marketing manager at marketing@palgrave-usa.com about providing flyers for the event.

Who should I contact about conference exhibits?

Palgrave Macmillan attends a number of conferences throughout the year. Please visit the conferences page to see the schedule. If you know of a conference that you would like to recommend, send the name, date, location, and contact information to marketing@palgrave-usa.com. Or, if you are an author who will be attending one of our upcoming conferences, please contact the marketing manager at marketing@palgrave-usa.com.

Who should I contact about advertising opportunities?

Can I place an order without signing up for promotional e-mails?

Yes, you must open an account to purchase books on our website, but you are not required to select any promotions. Simply, click on the checkmark next to “Can we send you e-mails” to deselect this option when you register.

For Authors

How do I order copies of my book?

If you are a Palgrave Macmillan author, you may purchase books at a 40% discount from VHPS, our warehouse, by calling 888-330-8477. The author discount applies to ALL Palgrave Macmillan books. Books for resale cannot be charged to a credit card. Contributors to edited collections receive a 40% discount off of their own titles, and 20% off of other Palgrave titles.

Will you send copies of my book to be considered for an award?

Please send details about the award including the sponsoring organization, contact person, and eligibility to publicity@palgrave-usa.com.

How can I update my author bio or other information on your website?

Please send any corrections to your editor and to marketing@palgrave-usa.com.

Why is my book out of stock? When will it be available?

Please contact your editor for specific details about the availability of your book. Books that are temporarily out of stock may be in the process of a reprint.

Rights & Permissions

How do I get permission to use a cover image or content from one of your books?

Please send your request on letterhead and include the following information about the book from which you want to excerpt. If possible, please send a photocopy of the material as well. We do not accept permissions requests via e-mail; please submit through the mail.

  • Title, Author, ISBN
  • Chapter title and page numbers of the requested material

If you are interested in proposing a book to Palgrave Macmillan, please submit a letter of inquiry, a brief proposal, and current CV. Please do not send entire manuscripts. We DO NOT accept unsolicited submissions by e-mail or telephone.
